About Us

The Department of Basic Medical Sciences, which started education within the Faculty of Medicine at our university as of the 2013-2014 academic year, covers the first three years of theoretical and practical process in medical education.

In Basic Medical Sciences education, systems are connected to each other through horizontal integration; By ensuring vertical integration with clinical sciences, theoretical knowledge is reinforced with practical training. Thus, our students learn about cell structure and functions, genetic mechanisms, human anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, and the relationships between microorganisms and human health throughout the human life span from birth to death; By understanding the biological basis of diseases, students gain the necessary infrastructure for clinical training.
